Issue de «Rues principales», cette activité rend alors hommage à l’artiste mascouchois Georges Delfosse (1869/1939). On y invite aussi les peintres amateurs et professionnels, nombreux dans la région. L’organisme s’incorpore dès l’année suivante pour devenir le Festival de peinture à Mascouche. Durant trois décennies, cet organisme se positionne comme l’un des événements-phares dans la municipalité. Fidèle à sa mission de permettre aux peintres de tous niveaux d’exposer, de partager, de se faire connaître et reconnaître à l’intérieur d’un même événement, il s'inscrit comme la plus importante compétition en arts visuels de Lanaudière. Il est l’un des rares symposiums à ajouter à sa programmation des activités formatrices telles que des classes de maîtres, des causeries, des conférences et des ateliers dirigés en lien avec les arts visuels.
