Créé en 1989, le Festival de Peinture se veut un événement annuel permettant aux peintres de toutes catégories et de toutes tendances de s’exprimer, d’exposer et de se faire connaître en un même lieu pour le plus grand bénéfice des amateurs d’art ou des profanes, qu’ils soient de Mascouche, de la grande région métropolitaine ou encore d’ailleurs en province. Objectif éducatif

Le Festival de Peinture à Mascouche veut éduquer et sensibiliser sa population quant à la diversité des formes que peuvent prendre les arts visuels et à leur apport important sur les plans éducatif, social et culturel. En outre, le Festival de Peinture veut devenir un événement marquant, reconnu à la grandeur de la province, afin de créer un pôle d’attraction culturelle et touristique dans la ville de Mascouche. On peut donc affirmer que le Festival de Peinture à Mascouche est unique en son genre puisqu’il réussit justement à harmoniser toutes ces différences. Ainsi, le Festival peut être fier des défis qu’il a su relever dont voici quelques exemples :

• harmoniser les différents volets : peintre invité, peintres professionnels, peintres de la relève;
• favoriser des échanges entre les artistes- présenter différentes tendances dans les arts : art figuratif et art actuel;
• adapter les lieux existants pour les rendre plus fonctionnels lors d’expositions ;
• faire participer les organismes du milieu à l’organisation de l’événement ;
• solliciter les services de nombreux bénévoles ;
• inviter les visiteurs en grand nombre au Festival.
• inviter les commanditaires à devenir des partenaires lors d’événements culturels ;
